How “No Win No Fee” Works

In 2000, legal aid ended in England and Wales in order to fund cases for accident compensation and personal injury.  Today the term of no win no fee is commonly heard and is the legal process that is practiced. This agreement, also known as Conditional Fee agreement, is often an essential part of building a successful case.  This agreement is used in personal injury cases and also medical negligence claims. 

This agreement is now celebrated for giving access to justice for those people who live in Wales and England who are having financial problems.  If you are a client seeing fair compensation for an injury you have sustained, by using this agreement, you will not be facing a huge legal bill and or financial problems in the future.  Under this no win no fee contract, the solicitor that you choose will not be paid for his services if the case is lost. 

If he is successful in the case, the solicitor will be allowed to charge an extra fee called the success payment.  This is like his reward for risking his work not knowing if he will win the case.  With a successful outcome, the winning legal team will be paid their fee by the other side and this will include the success fee as well.
