The only way to increase your wages where you work is to be able to take on more responsibility.  This means you must have more skills than other workers so you are more valuable to the company you work for.   If you like to work in an office environment and you work well with others, then you might think about checking into a job in management. 

Every business needs a manager and some businesses have more than one.  Not everyone is suited for this type of job but if you are naturally assertive, then this might be just the right fit.  If you have never had any management training, you can begin with a search online to find a management course.   Here you will find introductory, intermediate and advanced course.

There are also people management courses with topics such as advanced employment law, effective delegation and interviewing skills.  Just browse through the long list to find the course that you want to begin with.  Once you have more education under your belt, you can then request a raise from your employer or go ahead and apply for a better paying management position at a different location.
